The LEADER-AI Project: The Final Conference in Cyprus – September 2024
Our LEADER AI Final Conference took place on the 13-14 of September, 2024 at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, in conjunction with the Learning Innovations Summit 2024, ‘Unveiling the Future of Learning & Artificial Intelligence’. The conference and summit were organised by CARDET in collaboration with the University of Nicosia, the University of Groningen and the University College Dublin, under the auspices of the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sports and YouthThe Interactive eLearning platform is designed with specific objectives to enhance the digital teaching and learning experience in higher education.
The conference highlighted key recommendations for advancing the ethical and impactful use of AI in education and beyond. While frameworks for ethical use exist, support and training are required to ensure stakeholders can effectively understand and apply them. Evidence-based policymaking is essential, yet there is limited data on both the ethical dimensions and the exact impact of AI on learning. Transformation is ahead of us, with technology and AI playing an enabling part – for this, AI needs to become a “partner” for both educators, and students, with personalized and adaptive learning, including the ability to use data for improved predictive analytics and decision-making, being of utmost importance.
We are excited to wrap up our innovative project and see the results scaled up into new initiatives in the future!
