The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is the largest university in Cyprus with over 14 thousand students, 300 full time faculty and 700 part time in a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education, social sciences, computer science, engineering, business, communications, and multimedia. 28% of its student population are non-Cypriots, something that makes it a multicultural institution where diversity and pluralism are valued. WebsiteThe University of the Aegean (UAegean) was founded in 1984 aiming to introduce new approaches in higher education in Greece and worldwide and to promote regional development. Situated in 6 picturesque islands in the Aegean Archipelago,the UAegean offers a unique natural, cultural, and human environment for modern studies in the ancient cradle of knowledge. It has a population of 16.000+ undergraduate students, 2.100+ postgraduate students, 350+ teaching staff and 250+ administrative staff. In less than thirty years, the UAegean has evolved into an international research –oriented University offering 18 undergraduate (BA or BSc) and 40 postgraduate (MA or MSc) programs in modern interdisciplinary thematic areas. Its premises are spread among the particularly extensive islands of the Aegean Sea, on the east border of Europe. More particularly, six islands are hosting the University sites, while supplementary academic activities are also supported on other, smaller islands.
WebsiteTallinn University (TLU) is the third largest public university in Estonia with 7500 students in 6 schools. The Centre for Educational Technology (CET), established in 1998, is an interdisciplinary R&D unit within the School of Digital Technologies of TLU. International staff of CET (25 in total) consists of 14 full-time researchers, 6 software developers, 4 post-doc researchers, some part-time employees and a group of postgraduate students. The main research projects in CET are related with developing the next-generation distributed learning environments involving interoperable social software tools. TLU School of Digital Technologies has established partnerships with leading Estonian software companies (Skype Estonia, Nortal, Net Group, Pro Ekspert), and also with the main open-source based learning technology providers in the Baltic sea region (JukuLab OÜ inEstonia, MediaMaisteri OY in Finland). CET has developed the main educational portal in Estonia (Koolielu.ee) and several widely used online learning environments(VIKO, IVA, eDidaktikum, LeMill.net, EduFeedr), leading the research and development in Estonia on digital competence and digital innovation in schools in general.
