The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is the largest university in Cyprus with over 14 thousand students, 300 full time faculty and 700 part time in a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education, social sciences, computer science, engineering, business, communications, and multimedia. 28% of its student population are non-Cypriots, something that makes it a multicultural institution where diversity and pluralism are valued. The University of the Aegean (UAegean) was founded in 1984 aiming to introduce new approaches in higher education in Greece and worldwide and to promote regional development. Situated in 6 picturesque islands in the Aegean Archipelago,the UAegean offers a unique natural, cultural, and human environment for modern studies in the ancient cradle of knowledge. It has a population of 16.000+ undergraduate students, 2.100+ postgraduate students, 350+ teaching staff and 250+ administrative staff. In less than thirty years, the UAegean has evolved into an international research –oriented University offering 18 undergraduate (BA or BSc) and 40 postgraduate (MA or MSc) programs in modern interdisciplinary thematic areas. The UAegean has received consistently excellent feedback in evaluations that have taken place at national, European, and international level, because of the study programs offered by the institution and its competitive research programs. In 2016, UAegean was classified as the top-rated university in Greece, evaluated by the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQA). According to Erasmus+ Policy Statement 2014-2020, the exceptional identity of the University of the Aegean is based on the following characteristics: It provides academic services of the highest standards, emphasising on novel and multidisciplinary scientific areas, while additionally enriches traditional research fields. Its premises are spread among the particularly extensive islands of the Aegean Sea, on the east border of Europe. More particularly, six islands are hosting the University sites, while supplementary academic activities are also supported on other, smaller islands.

Tallinn University (TLU) is the third largest public university in Estonia with 7500 students in 6 schools. The Centre for Educational Technology (CET), established in 1998, is an interdisciplinary R&D unit within the School of Digital Technologies of TLU. International staff of CET (25 in total) consists of 14 full-time researchers, 6 software developers, 4 post-doc researchers, some part-time employees and a group of postgraduate students. The main research projects in CET are related with developing the next-generation distributed learning environments involving interoperable social software tools. TLU School of Digital Technologies has established partnerships with leading Estonian software companies (Skype Estonia, Nortal, Net Group, Pro Ekspert), and also with the main open-source based learning technology providers in the Baltic sea region (JukuLab OÜ inEstonia, MediaMaisteri OY in Finland). CET has developed the main educational portal in Estonia (Koolielu.ee) and several widely used online learning environments(VIKO, IVA, eDidaktikum, LeMill.net, EduFeedr), leading the research and development in Estonia on digital competence and digital innovation in schools in general.

CARDET is the leading research and development centre in the Mediterranean region with global expertise in school education, digital skills, literacy and language learning, migrant integration, and capacity building. As the largest independent non-profit centre based in Cyprus, CARDET is independently affiliated with universities and institutions from around the world, such as the Yale University, the University of Nicosia and the International Council of Educational Media. Our team, in partnership with EAEA, has recently developed the lifelong learning strategy 2021-2027 for Cyprus, engaging several ministries, government agencies, social partners, and public and private stakeholders. CARDET has completed more than 500 initiatives and projects relating to education, literacies, language, inclusion, digital transformation and digital skills. CARDET brings together an international team of experts with decades of global expertise in education research and development. Members of our team, board of directors, and advisory board have served in high profile positions for organisations like UNESCO, Commonwealth of Learning, OECD, Google, and the American Educational Research Association.

University of Piteşti (UPIT) is a state university, located in Pitesti (in the Southern part of Romania, at 120 kilometres from the capital Bucharest). It aims to be a dynamic and efficient HE provider in the region. Currently there are approx. 10.000 students from Muntenia region and approximately 700 paid teaching and administrative staff. It consists of 6 different faculties offering Bachelor, Master and Doctor Diplomas (www.upit.ro). Its objectives are to provide high quality educational, training and research services in order to train specialists in different fields and create an intellectual community accredited by national and international quality agencies.

Virtual Campus (VC) is a development, training and consulting SME in the areas of Technology Enhanced Learning, Serious Games and Information Systems. Its vision is to actively promote the development of the Knowledge Society by supporting public and private entities in designing and developing strategies and projects that lead to increased societal benefits, always through the use of digital environments for Education and Training. Located in Porto, North of Portugal, Virtual Campus has strong partnerships with various Universities and Companies in the region and has successfully partnered with Local and Regional Authorities, enterprise associations and specialised companies. In fact, Virtual Campus is a spin-off from the research and work developed at the R&D group GILT, from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. Virtual Campus staff forms a multidisciplinary team with academic backgrounds in different areas, allying knowledge and skills from International Relations, Programming, and Design.
