LEADER AI will develop a Toolkit with practical guidelines, scenario-based training, and an Interactive eLearning platform with digital resources on how HEIs can use AI-based and data-driven tools and approaches for personalised instruction.
Pilot implementation of these activities will take place, while a Committee will be established to support the success of the project. Promotional activities, events and a final european conference will further disseminate the project’s results.
LEADER AI aims to address the need for effective Higher Education (HE) digital learning that responds to students’ needs, strengths, and skills, through the proper exploitation of advanced technologies.
The project’s specific objectives are to:
LEADER AI supports a participatory methodology by establishing a Committee of key stakeholders including HE leadership teams, faculty and staff, academics, researchers, learning designers, SMES and educational technologists. Apart from its direct linking with the HE sector, the project will create synergies between various education related fields.
The tools and methodologies that will be developed through the project will support and respond to the HEIs and target groups’ needs. Based on a sound research methodology, an early needs assessment involving key stakeholders will indicate their existing challenges and needs to be addressed throughout the project. This will help the consortium produce innovative and tailor made resources, including a Toolkit comprising practical guidelines such as a learning design framework and checklist for harnessing technology, to be adopted by the target groups. In addition, training opportunities through scenarios, based on authentic learning, and a full suite of eLearning resources including a MOOC will help HE staff build their respective pedagogic and digital competences on personalisation through AI and analytics.
Aligning with the demands of in-service professional development, the training will include hands-on activities on the usage of specific open source tools and real case studies on the topic. Additionally, demonstrating digital tools in action, through a one-stop-shop platform, can assist the academics and educators in their daily practices.
